One of the industry’s leading green consultants merges its certification standards with those of an international firm that verifies carbon emissions cuts.

HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. — Green Globe Certification, a certification program that verifies greener practices in travel and tourism, has partnered with LIMOUSINE ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION PARTNERS to more thoroughly measure and evaluate carbon emissions in the ground transportation sector.

GREEN GLOBE CERTIFICATION will include LEAP’s certification system as part of its transport sector standard, said Green Globe Certifcation CEO Guido Bauer. Together, LEAP and Green Globe offer a comprehensive solution for owners and operators of ground transportation who want to run their businesses in ways to that protect and preserve the global environment.

“LEAP has developed the first certification program of its kind for the ground transportation/limousine industry anywhere in the world,” Bauer said. “Its aims are to decrease pollution and carbon dioxide emissions from the industry’s fleets while also reducing dependence on petroleum-based products.”

“LEAP offers a strategy that smoothes the bumps on the road towards smarter, more efficient technologies that operators will inevitably have to embrace over time,” said Pat Charla, the president and founder of LEAP. The group provides consultant services for operators of all fleet sizes who are looking for practical, affordable ways to reduce harmful emissions, save energy, cut costs, and increase environmental good will in the corporate world.

LEAP, which has built a strong following in recent years in the chauffeured transportation industry, offers services that include:

• Carbon emissions inventory assessments and goal setting

• Greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction strategies

• Carbon offsetting

• Voluntary reporting to governmental agencies

• Marketing and brand strategy

• Media relations

• Comprehensive outreach campaigns

• Partner’s booking engine

• Customer education
