Uber Makes Inroads With More App Versatility, Ventures

  • Uber has announced that it's opening up an API so any app developer can integrate the car service into its app. The Verge.com article here

  • United Airlines on Aug. 20 became the first airline to offer customers Uber transportation services via its mobile app, further enabling travelers to use the United app for services throughout their entire travel experience. MarketWatch.com press release here
  • OpenTable Inc., Starbucks Corp. (SBUX), TripAdvisor Inc. (TRIP), United Continental Holdings Inc. (UAL) and seven other companies are today introducing updated versions of their mobile apps, each with a button to hail an Uber ride. Bloomberg News article here
