Dan Sutich, CEO of Perfect Chauffeur, has been working diligently during the past three years to develop software for limousine companies that optimizes their use of fleets. This month, his end-to-end reservation management software called Perfect Chauffeur NS1 comes to market.

Sutich has been a regular at many industry events and shows during this time, exhibiting Perfect Chauffeur as the concept has evolved. “A lot of what we’ve been doing [at the shows] has been proof of concept,” Sutich says. “We got feedback from operators on various features. We’ve been adding components to Perfect Chauffeur to make it more user-friendly by design, and now we think we have something that will make it much easier for operators to manage their limo businesses.”

Perfect Chauffeur’s NS1 reservation and management software is a cloud-based system designed to be easy to use and control via tablets and smartphones from anywhere. “We’re trying to further automate the management process,” and take out the human errors that can lead to service failures, he says.

The system has a simple design and function that can be customized to intuitively run a limo business.

To do this, Perfect Chauffeur has built in a set of checklists and tasks that require confirmations from employees. Anti-redundancy and fact validations are structured into the software architecture to avoid mistakes.

“The flight numbers are all validated in real time, so you cannot enter an invalid flight into the system,” Sutich says. “You don’t have to worry about flight tracking because it’s always going to be handled properly.” The software automatically verifies addresses as well.

Perfect Chauffeur NS1 also simplifies communications between dispatchers and chauffeurs to prevent double bookings. All confirmations and ride status updates are automatically relayed to an operator in real-time.

Dispatch Origins

In devising his software, Sutich drew upon his background growing up in the family business. His parents have owned and operated Perfect Limo Service in Montvale, N.J. since 1984. where he often worked as lead dispatcher. “That’s where the idea for Perfect Chauffeur first came,” he says. “We originally were trying to optimize the dispatch process, creating an output of routes that would maximize the mileage and efficiency of each vehicle both to and from their destinations.”

But Sutich noticed during development that his software would need certain features to succeed. “It occurred to me that optimization is great and it can move things fast, but if there is a mistake, conversely the mistakes will multiply just as fast. So we had to rework the software design to eliminate any mistakes first. That is our primary focus — accuracy so there are no mistakes.”

The end result is a software system for managing reservations, dispatch, and employees efficiently in an easy, mobile-friendly interface. “The goal is that if you know the limo industry, then you should be able to run this without any training,” he says.

Intuitive Design

Sutich emphasizes the platform is built for touchscreen devices such as tablets. Users can easily navigate it with simple touch and swipe motions. “You can’t click things you shouldn’t and you can’t get lost in the system,” he says. “There’s no right click, no double click, and it’s highly customizable.”

Perfect Chauffeur offers a minimalist dashboard that clearly presents information with an innovative look and feel. The product will roll out to Beta testers in mid-2015.

“The response has been positive at shows, but we’ve always been reworking the software before release because I believe it’s better to make it right in the first place than to make changes once you’re in production,” he says. “We’ve been asking about features and needed changes. But at ILCT 2015, we seemed to be in the right place. There weren’t many suggestions on features or things to change or add, and it seems like we’re there now and the time is right.”
