WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Lynette's Limousine Service, a 19-year-old Wilmington limousine company with 21 vehicles, has been ordered shut down by federal officials after it failed a safety inspection from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
In an inspection of six vehicles in the Lynette's fleet, inspectors reportedly found a total of 26 vehicle defects, including some bad enough to pull three of the six vehicles out of service. They included: defective emergency exits, defective safety glass, a flat tire, faulty brakes, bald tires and broken rear steps held on with bungee cords.
