LBTOUNY opposition memo here: "TNCs are only a new player in an old profession. Transportation network companies are taxicab companies and we believe they should be held to the same standard. LBTOUNY strongly opposes S4280-A/A6090-A, as it would enshrine into law that TNCs are not subject to the same rules and standards as the companies they compete with."
UPDATE: Two influential New York state senators, Sen. John A. DeFrancisco, R-50th District, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and Sen. Marc Panepinto, D-60th District, who were original sponsors of the bill, have removed their names from the legislation.
