Bell Trans, Chauffeur Group Still Talking

Posted on March 10, 2010 by LCT Staff - Also by this author - About the author

LAS VEGAS — The negotiations for settlement in the Bell Trans class action suit continue this week with both sides committed to resolving the issue through mediation, according to attorneys from both sides.

As of today, no settlement has been reached but an offer has been made by Bell Transportation for an undisclosed dollar amount. The chauffeurs so far have neither accepted the offer nor counter-offered, according to a chauffeur involved in the case.

Parties involved in the lawsuit were asked to sign confidentiality agreements prior to the settlement meeting held on Feb. 27 and neither attorney would comment to LCT this week on the status of the case except for a brief comment by Bell's attorney, Norman Kirshman, who remains optimistic that a settlement is imminent.

Only two of the original chauffeurs involved in the class action suit remain employed by Bell Transportation, according to an anonymous source.
