ASHEVILLE, N.C. – A horrific limousine crash last summer involving a limo driver high on crack cocaine may provide the impetus for changes in state law governing for-hire drivers, including the possibility of drug and alcohol screening.
Advocates for more stringent regulations say random screening may have prevented the accident on Interstate 240 that claimed the lives of a recently married young couple, Will and Jamie Reid, and their unborn child as they were being driven to Asheville Regional Airport.
