The National Limousine Association has finally become a reality. After much planning and hard work on the part of its founding members, the NLA is launching a membership drive and developing goals which will establish a firm foundation for the association’s work in the years ahead.
The number one goal of the National Limousine Association will be to serve its members in helpful and innovative ways. First, and perhaps most important, is to cut insurance rates by tracking the industry’s experience, and separating limousines from all other forms of transportation. An active insurance committee is currently negotiating this possibility with interested carriers. Annual meetings and conventions, reports on new legislation and trends in the industry, market studies, product information, a member newsletter, employee training material, and education programs are among the other projects from which members will benefit.
In light of the tax reforms currently being proposed, representation within the federal legislative bodies in terms of monitoring and lobbying is a top priority. As our services gain greater acceptance, our industry is increasingly affected by government regulations. We are likewise under pressure from local governments to increase our insurance coverage while rates skyrocket. The National Limousine Association will protect and promote our common interests in these very important economic areas.
Promotion and public relations are continuing processes In the NLA. Meetings and conventions help to promote the industry nationwide. Communication of operators’ needs to suppliers and manufacturers is art important goal as well, and the members newsletter is an excellent informational tool.
Members may take advantage of additional options as part of their membership, including group insurance rates, special discounts on products and services, referrals in your local area, and group travel opportunities.
Working together as a strong national body, we will meet our business, needs more effectively The National Limousine Association will provide an equal voice for every operator, and a united voice for the industry. It is a young but important association, and with its growth you will soon find membership in the National Limousine Association to be a business necessity.
The NLA will be represented at the Limousine & Chauffeur Show and Conference, November 11-13, in Las Vegas, where you will be able to join right at the show! NLA will have a booth, a hospitality suite, and a position on the formal program. We look forward to seeing you there and we welcome your phone calls concerning association activities.
