ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — No other technology has disrupted and changed the ground transportation industry more than the recent emergence of Transportation Network Companies (TNCs), such as Uber and Lyft.
These mobile-app based companies have sent shock waves through the limousine industry, but operators also see a silver lining in the potential of integrating app technology into their business operations and even doing it better than the TNCs.
At the next month's LCT-NLA Show East, a panel of operators and technology experts will talk about the practical aspects of applying TNC technology to limousine operations, and how apps can grow business and improve customer service to meet real-time expectations.
This must-attend panel, “Harnessing the Success of the Uber Business Model,” will be held Monday, Oct. 20 from 9:45 a.m to 10:45 a.m. at Caesars Atlantic City.
Panelists will include: Eric Devlin, CEO of Premier Transportation Services in Dallas; Jeff Greene, CEO of Greene Classic Limousines Worldwide Transportation of Atlanta; Apurva Patel, CEO of GroundWidgets, a Paramus, N.J.-based technology company that specializes in consulting and development of applications for the ground transportation industry; and David Broyles of Bobit Business Media, who is an Internet entrepreneur and web producer for LCT Magazine. LCT editor Martin Romjue will be the moderator.
The tech panel will be the perfect complement to an NLA panel about the TNC State of the Industry, to be held Sunday, Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m., and which will focus on the industry's regulatory challenges, efforts and successes related to TNCs.
