D.C. Operator Explains Obamacare Hassles To Media Outlets

Posted on November 13, 2013

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- As the Obamacare enrollment train veers off the rails, small businesses are facing a lot of uncertainty about their insurance situations and business costs.

One limousine operator, David Glazier of Fleet Transportation LLC in Alexandria, Va., took the small business message to the major media during the past week, with a Nov. 8 interview with Greta Van Susteren on the Fox News Channel and an interview in a Business section article in the Nov. 11 edition of The Washington Post.

Glazier's interviews serve as an example of how limousine operators can advocate on behalf of the industry and small businesses.

Glazier and his wife, Stacey, run a 15-vehicle fleet based in Alexandria that includes luxury sedans, limousines, and buses, minibuses and SUVs used for shuttle transportation services througout the Washington, D.C. region. The company has a total of 35 employees, with 25- full time and 10 part time.

Services include daily long term local apartment complex shuttle services, corporate complex shuttle service driver and vehicle management, shuttles for parking at sporting events and various special events for upwards of 10,000 attendees on multiple days and weeks, as well as, long term, U.S. government and private sector shuttle services. The company also provides personal service with professional transportation and employs the unique services of logistical design and consultation.

As a small woman-owned business, Fleet Transportation was ranked one of the Top 5 Transportation Companies by the Washington Business Journal in 2013.
