JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One quality you can always ascribe to operator Pierce Fleming is persistence. His company, Dynasty Limousine, is a four-time finalist for the LCT Operator of the Year Award. And although it didn’t win again this year, it is not stopping Fleming from making some winning moves.

In the past year, retail runs are up and the fleet has grown to 17 vehicles, with 12 limousines and five sedans and SUVs. What makes Dynasty Limousine so distinct is the fact that it has grown and gone public relying on a business model that is 95% retail and 5% corporate. It can provide the full range of corporate chauffeured services but does not actively promote them. Dynasty specializes in large stretch limousines used for all types of special events, weddings, and entertainment outings.

Dynasty recently acquired two 200-in. Cadillac Escalade stretch limousines from Imperial Coachworks to add to its fleet of stretch Hummers, Chrysler 300s, and Town Cars.

“The next thing on the horizon is getting another limo bus,” Fleming told LCT recently. “Limo buses are understated. They are good for weddings, and we’re thinking of getting a 40-passenger party bus w/lasers and poles.”

In addition to the limo bus, the company is looking at acquiring a used Rolls Royce sedan for weddings and some newer stretch limousines, such as the MKT, to eventually replace the Hummers.

Official financial reports indicate revenue growth of 2.1% in 2011 to $718,494, with Dynasty Limousine having operated with three fewer limousines than usual for most of 2011, Fleming said.

Dynasty Limousine had to exert itself to become a publicly traded company, a process that involved long nights of paperwork, even longer waits for regulatory approvals, and painstaking attention to financial details. It also bought a small limousine company in southeastern Georgia, and received certification for Department of Defense Transportation.

Fleming, who runs the company with his mother, Anne, the founder and CEO, and his wife, Shelly, general manager, recently was interviewed on Stock Traders Radio.
