MLOA To Meet At LCT Show As It Nears 200 Members

Now in its fourth year, the Minority Limousine Operators of America (MLOA) is “still going strong” with 140 members and plans to increase membership and offer more programs, said MLOA President Maurice Brewster (Mosaic Global Transportation, San Francisco) during today’s bi-monthly teleconference association meeting on Jan. 28.

Executive Director, Dr. Yvonne LaMar, added that the association intends to recruit new members at the International LCT Show in Las Vegas, March 16-18 at the Venetian & Palazzo Hotel Casino, where the MLOA will hold a Sunday, March 15 hospitality reception at 6 p.m. with the goal to reach 200 members. The group formed in February 2011 at the LCT Show held at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino that year.

Brewster also mentioned that MLOA Board of Directors gathered Monday in Miami for a day-long work session to discuss how to strengthen the association and add new education programs to benefit members. “We worked to strengthen our bylaws and add some committees as well as new education programs as part of a strategic plan to grow the association,” added Brewster.

Having launched a new member government certification program and a recent social media tutorial, the MLOA intends to expand its education offerings, including potential symposiums to further educate members.
