PRLA Members Win Big at Monte Carlo Night

The annual event offers a casino twist to the traditional holiday party. More than 100 people attended.

PHILADELPHIA — Members of the PHILADELPHIA REGIONAL LIMOUSINE ASSOCIATION let their hair down at this year’s Monte Carlo Night on Dec. 8.

Rather than have a traditional holiday party, the association brought in a company which specializes in casino nights. Tables were set up at the catering facility where the monthly meetings are held for poker, craps and blackjack.

Attendees were given $250 of play money. They also could purchase additional play money should they not be lucky. At the end of the night, they turned in their money for chances to win door prizes which included gift baskets, gift certificates and two tickets to the International LCT Show in Las Vegas.

More than 100 people attended the event held at the Trevose Fire Company in Trevose, Penn. Many member companies brought staff, using the party as their own company’s holiday party. Jim Salinger and his wife, Josee, traveled from Harrisburg for the event. “We always have a great time,” said Salinger, who serves on the PRLA board. “We look forward to it every year.”

Steve Rhoades, owner of Rhoades Transportation, had two tables. Members of his staff won big at the tables, taking home many of the prizes. Rhoades organized the event, which is also a fundraiser for the association. “Our vendors and members were great donating over 30 prizes,” he said. “We had three 40- inch flat screen televisions that were given away.”

Philip Jagiela, president of the PRLA, said, “Monte Carlo night is a great event and the association works hard to get all of the details together. Steve Rhoades and his committee did an outstanding job of making this event a tremendous success for the third year.”
