The Great Wine Capitals Global Network gives the Bay Area operator kudos for its creative wine tours, safe and luxurious vehicles, and environmental stewardship.

SAN FRANCISCO — BAUER’S INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION (Bauer’s) — a provider of luxury, chauffeured, eco-friendly individual and group transportation — recently received the Great Wine Capitals Global Network’s (GWCGN) 2011 San Francisco/Napa Valley Best Of Wine Tourism Award in the Wine Tourism Services category.

Bauer’s received the recognition for the company’s ongoing dedication to creating exceptional and innovative offerings for visitors.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by the GWCGN for our tourism services,” said Gary Bauer, president of Bauer’s. “Given San Francisco’s proximity to one of the best wine regions in the world, we’ve worked to establish partnerships with top wineries and restaurants to ensure we’re providing visitors with convenient, innovative wine tour experiences in state-of-the-art transportation.”

Each year, the GWCGN offers hospitality leaders throughout San Francisco and the Napa Valley the opportunity to showcase their best practices in wine tourism across the globe and acknowledges the achievements of leading innovators with the Best Of Wine Tourism Awards.

As a regional Best Of winner, Bauer’s will now move forward to compete in the international awards, which will be judged by an international panel of respected wine tourism professionals and presented at the GWCGN’s annual meeting, which will be held this November in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Founded in 1989, Bauer’s combines the luxury and safety of chauffeured transportation with the technological conveniences and environmental benefits of private, full-service individual and group transportation. Bauer's emphasize environmental responsibility. In 2010 the United Motorcoach Association (UMA) awarded Bauer’s the coveted “Vision Award,” while in 2009, Bauer’s was the recipient of the UMA prestigious “Green Highway” award for its commitment to green stewardship.

With a fleet of 200+ vehicles, Bauer’s is close to being carbon neutral and is working with corporate America to help realize this goal. Bauer’s provides Corporate Intelligent Transportation services for some of the largest information technology and retail services companies on the West Coast, including Yahoo!, Facebook, Cisco, and Symantec. Bauer’s has received many awards of excellence over the years for its comprehensive safety, driving and training programs.
