Peter Pantuso of the American Bus Association gets selected for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s safety advisory committee.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — American Bus Association (ABA) President & CEO Peter J. Pantuso has been selected as one of eight new members of the FMCSA’s MOTOR CARRIER SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCSAC).

Established by Congress in 2006, the MCSAC is charged with providing information, advice and recommendations to FMCSA on motor carrier safety programs and regulations.

“Your extensive knowledge of motor carrier issues in this sector will prove invaluable in completing the advisory committee’s work,” FMCSA Administrator Anne S. Ferro wrote Pantuso in a formal letter of invitation. “I appreciate your commitment to motor carrier safety, and look forward to working with the advisory committee in advancing our shared goal of safety.”

PETER PANTUSO said, “Motorcoaches are the safest form of surface transportation, but our industry is committed to making the safest even safer. I hope to serve the public on this panel by advocating for sound, science-based regulations and stiffer law enforcement to keep illegal operators off of the roads.”

The eight new MCSAC members will begin their two-year terms on June 8.
