Top 5 Operators with Company-Owned Vehicles and Full-time Chauffeurs

Posted on July 1, 2001 by LCT Staff - Also by this author

It's one thing to have a large fleet but to also own all of the vehicles is another. In addition to owning all of the vehicles in their fleets, the companies in the following ranking employ large staffs of full-time chauffeurs.

Most of these companies have offices in more than one city in the United States. Bell Transportation is the sole exception with one location in Las Vegas.

Purpose The purpose of this listing is a further attempt by LCT to provide the limousine and chauffeured industry with a complete rating of who’s who in the industry. It’s an additional breakdown to clearly define specific operations within this industry.

Methodology LCT first compiled the statistics for largest overall fleets, the results of which are listed beginning on Page 44. Then after verifying the number of vehicles through insurers and local state agencies, we determined the number of vehicles that were owned by the various companies. For this category, we ruled out all companies that had one or more leased vehicle.

So, armed with this information, we at LCT then examined the number of chauffeurs at each company. We ruled out all part-time chauffeurs and independent contractors. We only focused on the companies that had full-time chauffeurs that had completed W-2 forms.

We then arranged the ranking according to the number of chauffeurs employed at each company.

Result As you can see, after calculating just the number of full-time drivers, Dav El tops the list in this category. Scott Solombrino’s 984 chauffeurs make his company the largest overall full-time driving staff in the nation. More information regarding Dav El can be found on Page 66.

Bell Transportation, ranked third, has the largest staff at a single location.
