ABA Unveils 2014 Top 100 Events in North America

Posted on September 5, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Bus Association’s (ABA) Top 100 Events in North America is an annual collection of the best events for group travel in the United States and Canada. Each spring, a committee of ABA-member motorcoach and tour operators select the Top 100 Events for the subsequent year; the list is unveiled in September. Winners are chosen from hundreds of celebrations, festivals, fairs, commemorative events, and more that have been nominated by ABA members. From among the winners, ABA names the Number One Event for both the United States and Canada. - See more here

For 2014, Baltimore’s “Star Spangled Spectacular,” honoring the bicentennial of the battle that inspired the American national anthem, and Québec City, Québec’s “International Festival of Military Bands” are the top U.S. and Canadian events respectively to visit on a motorcoach or with a group in 2014.

The ABA’s Top 100 Events in North America is now in its 33rd year. The list is published as a guide for travel professionals and the general public when planning group tours and vacations. ABA is releasing the entire list in its annual announcement of best events for group travel in the United States and Canada. It is a special supplement to the September/October issue of Destinations magazine. The full listing and descriptions of the winners may be found at www.buses.org.

“The Top 100 Selection Committee had a difficult task going through all of the very worthwhile nominees this year,” said ABA President and CEO Peter J. Pantuso, CTIS. “This year marked a record number of submissions from a wide-ranging, diverse group of events, all of which are a testament to the incredible effort and work of the motorcoach, travel, and group tour industry. We salute the Star Spangled Spectacular, the International Festival of Military Bands, and all the events in the Top 100.”
