NY Tax Repeal Scheduled For Special Meeting

Posted on May 24, 2013

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Bill proposed by Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-60th District, has been scheduled for the Investigations and Government Operations phase, a crucial step in the progress of the Bill through the Senate.

The Investigations Meeting will take place Thursday, May 30 at 10 a.m. in the Legislative Office Building in Albany, N.Y., and local chauffeured transportation operators are being urged to contact members of the Investigations Committee before the meeting to voice their support for the repeal of the tax.

The meeting will actually be streamed live from the New York State Senate’s website, and viewers can tune in to see the committee members address every issue.

David Bastian of Towne Livery, and member of the Limousine Bus Taxi Operators of Upstate New York, implores local operators to explain to committee members just how the tax has impacted their business and ask the members to help support them in repealing this unfair tax.

You can track Bill S4920 as it moves through the Senate here.
