LA Hidden Cameras Expose Unlicensed Limo Operators

Posted on May 17, 2013

LOS ANGELES — In the wake of the deadly San Mateo limo fire, CBS2’s David Goldstein launched an undercover investigation with hidden cameras into a number of limo operators in the Los Angeles area who are still chauffeuring passengers despite not having licenses.

The news segment featured investigators posing as customers and approaching limo operators they had researched as having revoked or expired licensing. Once operators accepted the passengers, Goldstein confronted owners on camera about the fact they were operating without a license.

It concluded with a tip on how customers can verify if their limo company is legally licensed and registered, by checking the PUC website.
