Pennsylvania Operator Serves National Civil War Museum With Shuttles

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Premiere #1 Limousine Service of Middletown, Pa., has partnered with the National Civil War Museum and Hershey Harrisburg Visitor’s Bureau to shuttle guests between the NCWM in Harrisburg and the National Park Service Museum and Visitors Center in Gettysburg from June 28 to July 7, 2013.

Those dates mark the 150th anniversary of the Civil War’s famous battle of Gettysburg. The shuttle service will help Dauphin County hotel partners add value and convience to the “Civil War 150” overnight package deals. The shuttle will also be available to the public for $33.50 per person with complimentary parking at the NCWM.

Gettysburg tourism officials expect 250,000 people to attend the special event this summer. With about 2,500 hotel rooms in Adams County, there will be significant overflow into surrounding areas. Dauphin County has more than 8,000 hotel rooms. That influx of people translates into a 10-15% bump in room demand in Dauphin County during a peak season when hotel occupancy is usually 70-80%.

“The shuttle service will reduce the individual car traffic that is a primary concern for Gettysburg event planners,” said Douglas Rydbom, CEO of Premiere #1 Limousine Service. “We feel that there is great opportunity for local hotels, restaurants and attractions to take advantage of a sold-out Gettysburg, especially from June 28, 2013 through July 7, 2013.”
