Fatal Oregon Tour Bus Crash Kills 9, Injures More Than 20

Posted on January 2, 2013

LA GRANDE, OR — A motorcoach carrying about 40 passengers lost control along Interstate 84 in Oregon and crashed through a guardrail, plummeting several hundred feet down a steep embankment on Dec. 30, killing nine people and injuring more than 20, according to CBS News.

The bus driver survived but had not yet spoken to police due to the severity of injuries, CBS reports.

The bus was owned by Mi Joo Tour & Travel in Vancouver, B.C. and was traveling from Las Vegas to Vancouver.

The U.S. DOT’s safety website shows that Mi Joo Tour & Travel owns six buses, none of which have been involved in any accidents in at least the past two years.
