New York Teen Killed In Party Bus Accident

FORT LEE, N. J. — A teenager traveling on a double-decker party bus from New York to a Sweet 16 party in New Jersey has died from severe head trauma sustained after he opened the bus' emergency hatch and hit his head on the underside of an overpass on Interstate 95 south.

Police identified the boy as 16-year-old Daniel Fernandez of Queens, N.Y. He was pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center.

The double-decker party bus was carrying about 65 teenagers and belonged to Long Island-based Designer Limousines.

In addition to the chauffeur, a security guard was onboard the bus.
