ORLANDO, Fla. — AllGems Transportation, based in Orlando, Fla., was recognized by The Victim Services Coalition of Central Florida for its outstanding personal commitment, dedication and service to victims of crime at the 22nd Annual Recognition Breakfast during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week  April 22-28. The annual breakfast honors law enforcement, prosecutors and child advocates that have gone above and beyond for victims of crime.

Joe and Michele Rivera, owners of AllGems, were nominated for this prestigious award by the Orange & Osceola County Children’s Advocacy Center at the Howard Philips Center for Children & Families, part of the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The center provides dignity and healing for children, families and individuals who face overwhelming challenges such as child abuse, sexual trauma, developmental disabilities and lack of access to medical care.

AllGems has donated hundreds of rides and provided continuous weekly transportation services and gas cards to clients who have difficulty attending their treatment and therapy sessions due to transportation or financial challenges.

“Joe and Michele are truly heroes to our children and our team members,” said Marie Martinez, operations manager for the Howard Philips Center. “They go above and beyond to ensure the needs of our families are met and that our team members know how much the community appreciates the work they do every day. We are so incredibly fortunate to have their commitment of support.”

The company also was awarded first place as an individual fundraiser at this year’s 31st Annual Dick Batchelor Run for the Children. To date, the annual 5k run has raised more than $1 million in support of Central Florida children.

“It has been a rewarding experience having the ability to make a positive impact in a family’s life by providing much-needed transportation services,” said Joe Rivera, president of AllGems.
