Los Angeles Limo Service Discovers Party Bus Profit In Vegas

Posted on March 14, 2012

LOS ANGELES — A new promotion from Los Angeles-based My Party Ride doesn’t launch until the summer but it’s already sold 7,000 bookings on Groupon. When the weather warms up, Southern California residents can get a one-day, round-trip adventure from Los Angeles to a Las Vegas poolside party for only $99. By keeping the overhead low, My Party Ride can run this weekly service at a high profit margin.

Las Vegas pool parties are basically nightclubs in the daytime at a pool. In addition to poolside access to these events, My Party Ride passengers enjoy complimentary In-N-Out burgers, alcohol and an onboard DJ. Professional chauffeurs from My Party Ride’s parent company, KLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services, operate the buses. A third-party security company will manage the safety level of the bus and act as tour guides for the group.

Four buses from two Los Angeles locations will leave for Vegas around 7 a.m. and return at 11 p.m. My Party Ride’s target markets are Hollywood and university students from nearby UCLA and USC. Each 30-passenger bus has the potential to generate nearly $3,000 in revenue per trip, and My Party Ride intends to keep costs under $1000.

“We started talking to club promoters in Vegas to get a deal where we bring them customers and they waive the cover charge for our passengers,” said My Party Ride owner Alex Darbahani. “Passengers get to relax as someone else drives them to Vegas, and they spend that four-hour trip watching movies or listening to the DJ or drinking and socializing. You have to be at least 21 to go on this trip, and our security staff makes sure everyone stays safe.”

Darbahani receives authority to operate in Las Vegas by purchasing single-day operating permits.
