Bus Crash In Quebec Leaves Two Dead And More Than 20 Injured

Posted on March 7, 2012

PLESSISVILLE, Quebec — A charter bus trip taking gamblers from Thetford Mines, Quebec, to a casino in the U.S. ended disastrously when the motorcoach veered off the road and flipped into a ditch, killing a man and woman on board, The Huffington Post Canada reported last week.

The bus was carrying 57 passengers, mostly seniors, and more than 40 were taken to the hospital following the crash.

Sgt. Claude Denis of Quebec provincial police said it appears the bus, a Prevost H345 equipped with winter tires, missed a turn on a slippery road and flipped onto its side, slamming into a power line.

The bus, operated by Autocars La Chaudiere, had passed its most recent inspection in February.
