ST. LOUIS — The 2011 World Series, an exciting, seven-game competition between the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers that proved to be one of the most dramatic in the history of the Fall Classic, turned out to be a huge winner for BEST Transportation as well, as did the Cardinals’ entire post-season playoff run and victory parade in October.

BEST Transportation of St. Louis, which provides service to corporate and social groups in the St. Louis area, experienced a robust 25% hike in revenue in October, said Kim Garner, president and co-owner of BEST Transportation. With rates remaining standard for the post-season activity, BEST Transportation’s revenue increase resulted solely from substantially increased usage of its fleet of luxury vehicles.

“During the World Series, our company handled transportation for Major League Baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals and numerous VIPs who flew in for the games in St. Louis,” Garner said. “Our staff and chauffeurs demonstrated considerable flexibility in accommodating the needs of so many visitors to St. Louis, particularly when rain pushed the scheduled start of Game Six back one day. Literally within hours of the rescheduled start, our entire team adjusted bookings to accommodate all of the changes.”

Chauffeurs of BEST Transportation vehicles also kept busy shuttling visitors to the victory parade for the World Champion Cardinals that was held downtown on Sunday, Oct. 30. Hundreds of thousands of fans lined Market Street to catch a glimpse of their baseball heroes en route to a ceremony held in Busch Stadium.

Earlier this year BEST Transportation was selected for the 2011 LCT Operator of the Year Award by Limousine Charter & Tour Magazine in the large operator (31-50 vehicles) category. The award honors chauffeured transportation operators who have excelled in management, customer service, marketing, fleet quality, safety and community, and industry contributions. The company is owned and operated by sisters Kim Garner and Debbie Rudawsky.

Founded in 2002, BEST Transportation offers chauffeured services with premium sedans, classic cars, limousines, vans, mini-coaches and limo party buses. Since 2009 the company has operated a second division called GO BEST Express, which serves as the official shuttle company for Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and the City of St. Louis. BEST, also selected as one of the “Top Women-Owned Businesses” for 2010 by the St. Louis Small Business Monthly, is 100% female-owned and is a certified WBE/DBE company.
