BEST Transportation Gets Go-Ahead To Bid On Defense Contracts

Posted on July 26, 2011

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — BEST Transportation of St. Louis, which provides service to corporate and social groups in the St. Louis area, has been approved by the U.S. Department of Defense as a certified contractor. The approval allows BEST to bid on government contracts.

“We are pleased to be approved by the Department of Defense to bid on any contracts relevant to our industry,” said Kim Garner, president and co-owner of BEST Transportation, in a statement. “The approval process for the Department of Defense is extremely stringent, even more so than the audits we undergo from the Missouri Department of Transportation or even the federal Department of Transportation. This certification helps confirm our company’s commitment to safety.”

BEST Transportation was honored Feb. 15 with the 2011 LCT Operator of the Year Award in the 31-50 vehicles category by LCT Magazine during its annual trade show in Las Vegas. The award honors chauffeured transportation operators who have excelled in management, customer service, marketing, fleet quality, safety and community and industry contributions.

BEST Transportation also garnered the 2010 TORCH Award by the Better Business Bureau. The award is given annually to companies which qualify as having outstanding customer service and high ethical standards.

Founded in 2002, BEST Transportation offers chauffeured services with premium sedans, classic cars, limousines, vans, mini-coaches and limo party buses. Since 2009, the company has operated a second division called GO BEST Express, which serves as the official shuttle company for Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and the City of St. Louis.

BEST Transportation, owned and operated by sisters Kim Garner and Debbie Rudawsky, was selected as one of the “Top Women-Owned Businesses” for 2010 by the St. Louis Small Business Monthly.
