Putting Its Money Where The Clock Is

Posted on June 10, 2011

NEW YORK -- Sunny's Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation is promoting a “if we’re even one-minute late” guarantee of free transportation, making use of a distinctive marketing tool in the industry, according to a press release.

Sunny's wants to present itself as a confident operation in an industry that has historically been maligned for offering frustrated customers endless excuses for late arrivals.

The guarantee states that “if we’re even one minute late, ever, the ride is free.” Sunny’s guarantee is offered in writing.

Marnee Revri, an independent travel consultant with the Frosch Travel Group, praised the unconventional guarantee and says it helps her in making precise travel arrangements. “When I book airlines, hotels and cars, if it doesn’t go as planned, who do you think gets the phone call?” Revri says. “That’s right, me! If Sunny’s can provide sterling service, which they have, and bite the bullet when and if they're late, my client has some level of relief. So far, so good. We gave them a few trial runs and noted their on-time record. They were early. I guess they don’t want to drive around for free.”

Sunny Chaudry, the company’s president, said: “I expect my chauffeurs to be on time. Attention to detail is one of their primary responsibilities and part of their training. I want our customers to count on us and to know that we all stand behind our guarantee.”

Aside from the guarantee, Sunny’s, with a fleet of about 150 vehicles in New York City and Washington, D.C., offers several other in-vehicle perks, which are not necessarily common in the industry and again they’re free.

Each vehicle, sedan or otherwise, is stocked with cold bottled water, Diet Coke, mints and a box of tissues that the passenger may take, all complimentary. Chauffeurs are uniformed, background-checked and drug tested. Sunny’s vehicles include Lincoln Town Cars, SUVs, vans, stretches, Mercedes, hybrids, mini-buses and full-size 56-passenger coaches.

In addition to New York and Washington, Sunny's operates company-owned luxury-level fleets in Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston with a comprehensive affiliate network throughout every major city worldwide.

Sunny's was selected, after a rigorous check from the CIA and Homeland Security, for President Bush’s Inaugural Parades. Additional clients include The U.S. Senate, CNN, Turner Broadcasting, Blackrock, Capital One, CBS, ABC and MTV.
