SAN JOSE -- A jury Wednesday convicted a party bus fleet owner of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a 25-year-old Santa Cruz woman who fell out of a faulty bus door that the owner knew about but ignored.

Jon Reno St. James, 58, was immediately ordered into custody by Superior Court Judge Julia Alloggiamento after the clerk read the jury's verdict. St. James faces up to four years in jail and is set to be sentenced May 29.
