Touring Where Obama Walked

Posted on September 9, 2009 by LCT Staff - Also by this author - About the author

CHICAGO — When Barak Obama was elected President, Brian Whitaker, owner of Chicagoland Transportation Solutions, Inc., knew that it was an opportunity to capitalize on the new President’s popularity. He created Obama tour packages which took participants to the sites in Chicago made famous by President Obama.

The tours travel through the Windy City pointing out sites such as where President Obama made his election night acceptance speech, and his favorite haunts such as his family’s favorite bookstore and pizza place. It also passes the family’s residence and meanders through the neighborhood. In addition to the Obama related locales, it also spotlights other great Chicago sites. Tour packages can be designed to include a meal at a famous Chicago landmark that was frequented by the Obama’s.

“Participants will gain a greater appreciation of the President and will have the opportunity to understand what his life was like before he became President,” Whitaker explains.

An extended tour covers all of the U.S. Presidents that have made Chicago famous. The guide will point out many Presidential statues through the Chicago park system while bringing the pages of Chicago’s history to life with fascinating tales of the great individuals who have served our country as President. Most of the tour is aboard the motorcoach, but some walking may be involved.

Chicagoland Transportation Solutions is a receptive tour company that has one 30 passenger mini-coach and will be adding motorcoaches in 2009. The company offers city highlights tours and several specialty tours including: Sample Chicago (food tour), Ethnic Neighborhoods and Gangster Tours. In addition to local tours, they plan many itineraries for student and senior groups traveling throughout the Midwest. Brian has worked in the transportation and tourism business for more than 19 years, most of them being in Chicago.
