Carey Sees Airport Runs Soar In Virginia

Posted on June 17, 2009 by LCT Staff - Also by this author - About the author

NORFOLK, VA — Carey Transportation has seen its Airport Connection service at the Norfolk International Airport grow 33% in May, compared to May 2008. Year-to-date, figures are up 15% compared to 2008.

Airport Connection services Virginia’s busiest airport exclusive of the metro-Washington, D.C. area airports. Airport Connection offers Ford Crown Victorias and Ford vans for door-to-door service from baggage claim to any destination in the southeast Virginia cities of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Newport News, Hampton, and Williamsburg.

Customers can make advanced reservations or walk-up 24/7 to the airport-based service.

“These results are exceptional, especially given the state of the economy in general and the transportation industry specifically,” said Stephen Story, president of Carey Transportation and James River Bus Lines. “We continue to buck the trend in the industry and I attribute that to our excellent Airport Connection staff and their dedication to outstanding customer service.”

Airport Connection offers expert uniformed drivers that can get clients underway in 15 minutes or less. The Crown Victoria sedans have extra legroom while the vans feature a center aisle to prevent crawling to the back seat. Clients can share rides or reserve a private vehicle for an additional $25 one-way charge.

Carey Transportation, which has facilities in Norfolk, Richmond, and Williamsburg, is part of the Carey International network in 480 cities and 75 nations.
