Sabertec, LEAP Form Alliance To Help Operators Go Green

Posted on June 10, 2009 by LCT Staff - Also by this author - About the author

AUSTIN, TX — Sabertec, an emerging environmental technology company and makers of Blade, said today it has partnered with sustainability consulting firm, Limousine Environmental Partners, LLC (LEAP).

Blade is a device designed to reduce CO2 emissions and toxic particulate matter (PM) from automotive tailpipes while increasing fuel efficiency. Blade is the first and only product to show significant CO2 reductions and fuel economy increases in independent, EPA 511 Protocol testing (the EPA standard for automotive aftermarket technologies) across a fleet of vehicles. It is being adopted by city and state fleets in Massachusetts, New York, Florida, Colorado, and California, and chauffeured transportation fleets nationwide, making Sabertec a natural partner for LEAP.

Founded by both chauffeured transportation industry veterans and environmental experts, LEAP is a business development consulting firm dedicated to helping executive ground transportation companies go green without raising costs or sacrificing quality. LEAP guides ground transportation companies and fleet managers towards greener business models that are not only substantially better for the environment, but first and foremost, for the bottom-line.

Los Angeles-based Exclusive Sedan Service, winner of the LCT 2007 Operator of the Year award and a LEAP client, has been using Sabertec’s Blade technology to improve LA’s air quality and increase new business since October 2008.

"Cars are the core of our business, and we feel it is our responsibility to do all that we can to reduce their impact on the environment,” said Brandan Stein, vice president of Exclusive Sedan. “More and more customers are requesting Bladed vehicles, which is revolutionizing our business and the chauffeured transportation industry in general.”

The alternative to Blade, replacing vehicles with hybrids, “simply isn’t cost effective and only produces a marginal CO2 and fuel efficiency benefit,” said Bill O’Brien, CEO of Sabertec. “Furthermore, hybrids do not provide any protection against asthma and cancer-causing toxic particulate matter emissions. Black car companies that have chosen to retrofit their existing fleets with Blade have gained a huge competitive advantage in the marketplace. Their clientele can now ride responsibility without sacrificing comfort and style. We are looking forward to making significant impact on air pollution in this industry through our partnership with LEAP.”
