Limousine Used in Texas Bank Robbery

TULSA, Okla. – A Tulsa man was arrested after using a limousine as a getaway car in a Texas bank robbery, police said Tuesday.

Cory Eugene Gill, who turned 40 on Monday, was arrested Friday night in Tulsa, hours after a man robbed an Irving, Texas, bank and was seen leaving in a black limousine.

Gill is being held without bail in the Tulsa Jail on robbery complaints from Dallas County, Texas, and Seattle, Wash.

After the Irving robbery, police there contacted the limousine company and learned where the fleeing man was taken, according to Gill's arrest report.

They discovered that Gill paid a limo driver to pick him up at an Irving church and drop him off in Tulsa at a residence in the 1300 block of North 76th East Avenue, according to his arrest report.

The driver told police he didn't know that the man was wanted by authorities.

Irving police notified Tulsa police, and an officer went to the Tulsa address and saw Gill get into a second limousine, according to the arrest report.

Police followed that car to Pine Street and Memorial Drive, where they pulled it over.

Officers arrested Gill and recovered most of the money that was stolen during the Irving bank robbery, police said.

According to Gill's arrest report, he was born in Portland, Ore., but lists a Tulsa address.

Warrants had been issued for his arrest in Phoenix and Seattle for violating his parole in previous bank robberies.

He also is a suspect in an Oklahoma City bank robbery earlier this month, officials said.
