Ohio EPA Investigating White Powder Found Next to Limousine

MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio – The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is expected to investigate a white powder found at an Andrews Road limousine company on Monday.

Local fire officials closed off a one-block area near All Occasion Limousine at the corner of Andrews Road and Linden Drive after 5:00 p.m. Monday when company officials found a 3-pound bag of white powder.

Two limousine company employees were taken to LakeWest Hospital for observation after they were exposed to the unknown substance earlier in the day. They were treated and released.

Fire officials did several tests to try to identify the substance, which had leaked from a bag near one of the limos. The employees had moved the bag outside.

Fire officials were not able to identify the substance and called EPA officials who told them to isolate the powder and evacuate the nearby area until it was identified. The substance was sealed in a large drum overnight.
