Lefkowitz Testifies on New Jersey Sales Tax

TRENTON, N.J. – Limousine Associations of New Jersey Executive Director Barry Lefkowitz testified before the state’s Assembly Appropriations Committee on the sales tax on service, and the need for its elimination. LANJ testimony was part of the association’s attempt to become part of the governor’s bill, called “Streamline Use and Sales Tax.”

Nellie Pou, chair of the Assembly Appropriation committee and Louis Greenwald, chair of the Budget committee, and Speaker of the Assembly Joe Roberts, publicly stated that they intended to help the chauffeured transportation industry and repeal the “sales tax on service.” To do this, they will use A999, legislation originally introduced by Assemblywomen Cruz-Perez and Pou, according to LANJ.
