UNCASVILLE, Conn. — More than 600 operators, suppliers, and industry friends came to the fourth-annual LCT Eastern Conference last week at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino — a robust attendance considering the faltering economy.
Two key themes emerged on the trade show floor, which drew healthy foot traffic throughout the two days: Greener vehicles and online marketing and media.
An overview of the displays proved these two product markets as key to the industry’s future and critical to an operator’s financial success. By using more efficient vehicles and capitalizing on the niche marketing of the Internet, operators can position themselves for the long haul in the chauffeured transportation industry.
Seminars geared toward smaller and larger operators separately provided reams of practical, how-to tips on everything from maintenance, to budgeting, to finding new business opportunities, to marketing creatively.
Industry leaders Scott Solombrino of Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network, NLA President Richard Kane, Commonwealth Transportation CEO Dawson Rutter, and BostonCoach COO Mark Munoz were on hand to offer insights and expertise.
LCT Magazine will provide complete coverage of the trade show floor and seminars in its November issue. This week, look for photos and updates on LCT’s blog, LimoLicious.
And the International LCT Show 2009 — the largest industry event worldwide — is only four months away. It will be held Jan. 26-28 at the Venetian Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Please visit International LCT website for details.
