LOS ANGELES – A Metrolink train carrying 32 passengers collided with a stalled limousine in Burbank on Jan. 13, but no one was hurt, authorities said. The crash occurred about noon at Buena Vista and Vanowen streets, said Burbank Police Lt. Brian Matthews.
Train number 114 was going from Moorpark to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles when the collision with a white stretch limo owned by Quinn Limousine Service occurred.
Sgt. Jay Jette, public relations officer for the Burbank Police Department, said damage to the 2000 Lincoln Town Car was “major.” He said the limo was previously rear-ended by a van and ended up stalled on the tracks. “The collision pushed him onto the tracks into the path of the train,” Jette said. The driver was able to evacuate the vehicle and traffic was routed around the area for several hours.
