Nassau County Limousines Seized

MINEOLA, N.Y. – The Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs' Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) announced the seizure of 12 unregistered For-Hire Vehicles, including stretch limousines, in an enforcement effort that took place recently. None of the drivers of the seized vehicles had valid livery licenses, according to the TLC. Three of the seized vehicles had registrations in Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina. Additionally, nine vehicles did not have proper insurance.

Nassau County Police worked with the Office of Consumer Affairs in the joint operation, which took place in Massapequa and the Green Acres Shopping Mall. "People should look for the Nassau County TLC Diamond on the passenger side of the front windshield so they know that the vehicle and its driver have been properly vetted," said Roger Bogsted, commissioner of the Office of Consumer Affairs in Nassau County. "Legitimate for-hire operators applaud our enforcement efforts."
