Coastal Car and Limousine Starts Up Environmental Sustainability Program

Posted on July 9, 2008 by LCT Staff - Also by this author - About the author

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Coastal Car and Limousine has embarked on an aggressive environmental sustainability program to reduce the environmental impact of all aspects of its business. Using the services of Green Ride Global, a North American firm which provides environmental sustainability programs for the transportation industry, Coastal Car and Limousine has committed to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20% to 30% over the next five to 10 years through fuel efficiency; the transition to new technologies, vehicles and fuels; reduced electricity use; waste reduction; and employee education.

Coastal’s program will follow the internationally recognized ISO 14001 Environmental Management System framework. Evan Michaels, CEO of Coastal Car and Limousine, understands the importance of integrating environmental sustainability into ground transportation. “We are excited to offer Floridians a luxury transportation service that has a reduced environmental footprint,” says Michaels. “We are taking a leading step in our market with our environmental commitments.”

In tandem with the launch of their environmental program, Coastal is also launching a new service that will help local Florida businesses reduce the environmental impact of their employees’ daily commute. “We have launched a shuttle program that will get commuters off the roads and onto local Tri-Rails,” continues Michaels. “As fuel costs continue to rise and air quality continues to decline, the need for an environmentally conscious transportation option becomes more relevant for commuters.” Coastal Car and Limousine will be providing shuttle service to and from Tri-Rail stations throughout Florida as a last-mile link between train stations and job-sites.
