SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A new coachbuilder startup, Sterling Coach Builders, has entered the limousine market. Yet there is nothing “new” about the men behind it.
“I have been in the [limousine] business since ’91,” said Jerry White, the company’s president. “I worked with DaBryan [Coach Builder] in the past, I worked for Executive [Coach Builders] in the past, I worked for American Custom Coach and also for Federal [Coach].”
Sterling’s national sales manager, Rick Rikard, has been in the industry for 20 years, White added, working as a sales manager for Springfield Coach Builders and for DaBryan.
What is “new” about this company are the features and look of the vehicles it builds.
“The air conditioning [unit] is in the post area instead of overhead,” White said. “The console is completely different, using walnut, thicker wood. The car has a lot more fiber optics than any car on the market. The seats have a wavy look to them.”
White, who specializes in limousines and SUV conversions, also noted that his vehicles feature more wood around the speakers and divider panel areas, to name a few places.
