BALTIMORE — The Maryland Aviation Commission approved a $25 permit increase for limousine operators who serve the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. BWI currently requires operators to buy a $75 annual permit to do business at the airport, with a 10-permit cap per company. As a compromise, the commission proposed raising the rate to $100 per permit and removing the cap.
Carolyn Nelson, owner of Belaire Limousine Inc., suggested converting to a pay-per-trip system similar to the one used at Philadelphia International Airport. The commission approved increasing the fee to $100 effective Jan. 2 but may revisit the hike after getting additional input from limousine operators.
