NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. - Regal Limousine Service was recently recognized for its efforts to combat air pollution on behalf of the Granite State Clean Cities Coalition. The organization was officially launched May 30 and consists of both public and private citizens and organizations devoted to improving air quality and reducing dependency on foreign oil.
The coalition makes federal funds available to further its mission. Regal has applied for a grant to assist with the replacement of 10 of its gas-burning Ford Crown Victoria airport sedans with Crown Victorias that burn compressed natural gas (CNG).
"We're proud to be an active part of this process," said Lyndy Burnham, director of corporate development for Regal. "We strive to be a forward-thinking company, and it's great to work with the Granite State Clean Cities Coalition and the U.S. Department of Energy, organizations that are fully prepared to see things through to fruition and make a difference."
The recognition came from the Governor's Office of Energy and Community Services, along with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and the U.S. Department of Energy. Regal was also awarded a $100,000 federal grant in order to defray the cost of adding 10 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Ford Crown Victoria sedans to its fleet. Regal plans to add these vehicles over the next two years.
