Police Allege False Identities Used to Purchase Limousines

More false identities allegedly used by an Ontario, Calif., limousine company owner arrested for identity theft were found Tuesday by police officers. Authorities also impounded seven of vehicles.

Julious Wright, owner of DLS Platinum Limousine Service, now faces eight counts of identity theft, forgery and false impersonation. Redlands police next week could file more charges.

According to Redlands Det. Brad Kloepfer, Wright allegedly assumed five identities in order to buy seven limousines, worth $500,000, all of which have been impounded by police. Police suspect that Wright was making payments on the limousines, but needed to use the false identities for credit reasons.

Contrary to earlier police speculation that Wright used identities found through obituaries, at least two of the victims are alive and have been contacted by police. Kloepfer said that one person said that the limousine purchases had shown up on his credit report.

Police first became aware of the crimes when Wright allegedly used the identity of Daniel Brandhorst, a Los Angeles man who was a passenger on one of the airliners that hit the World Trade Center, to apply for a credit card.
