BOSTON — Throughout the country, chauffeured transportation companies say that reverse auctions for corporate chauffeured services are disappearing. But, suppliers also said travel managers were taking the same approach with their RFPs, ultimately weakening ground transportation programs.
Everett, Mass.-based BostonCoach CEO Jonathan Danforth told Business Travel News that his company will not respond to many RFPS because they are too concerned with price or are only looking for airport transfers. He echoed the sentiments of Chelsea, Mass.-based Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network President Scott Solombrino, who said, “There’s always companies that are price-focused in their RFPs. Some companies are just so driven by price that we can’t compete.”
