ORLANDO, Fla. — The Greater Orlando Limousine Association (GOLA) is urging the city’s mayor to enact tighter regulations on unlicensed commercial drivers. The association’s push comes from what it sees as a growing number of illegal operators offering their services all over Central Florida without concerns of enforcement.
According to GOLA president, Mike McKenzie, the ‘rogue drivers’ endanger residents and visitors to Orlando and undermine the legitimate business of association members. He adds that the integrity and overall safety of the industry is paying the price for illegal operators. GOLA assures a disastrous impact on many levels will occur if the restrictions remain un-enforced.
