Industry Veteran Profiled in Local News

CARSON, CALIF. — Bob Froeschle, a 91-year-old salesman at Coach West in Carson, Calif., was recently profiled in the Business section of the Daily Breeze newspaper. The self-proclaimed “Oldest Limo Salesman in Town” took a job at a Cadillac dealership in Santa Ana, Calif., in 1939 while he played jazz in a stand up band on the side.

The article brings attention to the still blooming world of stretch SUV and bus sales, despite the price of fuel and heightened attention on the environment. “We’re selling more SUVs than we used to,” said Froeschle. “The kids want to have that kind of a look.”

Froeschle is known in the industry for his colorful sense of humor, which shined throughout the interview. “The ladies, you know, I beat them back with a stick,” he said, “But I have a defense. I tell them at my age, I can’t take yes for an answer.”
