New Jersey Newspaper Honors A. Harrington Limousine’s 85th Anniversary

EDISON, N.J. – A. Harrington Limousine Service Inc. has been a family-owned limousine service in Edison for 85 years. Opened by Alex Wilner in 1923, the company originally started by supplying limousines for funeral homes to transport people to and from funerals.

Mostly by word of mouth from the funeral home, A. Harrington Limousine Service gained customers by being asked to drive businessmen to airports. The company was eventually passed down to David Wilner, Alex’s son, and is currently run by David and his son Jonathan.

“My father always said, ‘It’s not how many you can do, but how many you can do correctly,’” said Jonathan Wilner, referring to the customers the company serves.

As time went on, the company began to buy smaller limousine companies and gain their client lists. Those clients have stayed with the company because of their professionalism, Wilner said.

“We are a uniformed chauffeur company with new and reliable vehicles,” he said. “We maintain a high level of meticulousness, and our vehicles are clean and shiny. The cars look the part, and so do our drivers.”

Wilner says that the chauffeurs will always arrive 10 to 15 minutes early, and will always know the destinations.

“I think that the fact that our chauffeurs are on time, know where they are going, and drive in a safe and courteous manner, that’s the number one thing that businesses like about us,” he said.

With this year being their 85th anniversary, A. Harrington Limousine Service is very proud to continue to service people’s chauffeuring needs. “We must be doing something right if we’ve been in business this long,” Wilner said.
