NLA Works with Lobbying Firm to Secure RIDE Act Amendment

Posted on May 7, 2008 by LCT Staff - Also by this author - About the author

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Limousine Association has engaged Cornerstone Government Affairs, a Washington DC-based lobbying firm, to help secure amendment to the Real Interstate Driver Equity (RIDE) Act and stop abuses of the law – especially at airports – that plague limousine operators. Selection of Cornerstone, which was recommended by the 2007 NLA Legislative Committee that included chair Michael Renehan (Allaire Limousines, Farmingdale, N.J.), co-chair Richard Kane (International Limousine Service, Washington, D.C.), then NLA president Jeff Greene (Greene Classic Limousines, Atlanta), NLA executive director Patricia Nelson, and NLA government affairs director Barry Lefkowitz, was approved by the NLA Board of Directors on April 9.

The Cornerstone team, comprised of former Senate and House Appropriations committee staff directors, presidential appointees, Congressional chiefs of staff and other professionals, joins Lefkowitz in this effort that now has been underway for more than a year.
