MELVILLE, N.Y. — In a survey of 2,469 adults across the nation, 56% said they feel appreciated by their employer, according to a Workplace Insights Survey by Adecco, a workforce solutions firm.
The survey also found that feeling valued at work inspires employee loyalty. Members of Generation X (ages 30 to 42) feel the most secure in their jobs and three-quarters of everyone surveyed said they are committed to their employers.
Adecco officials believe the survey results indicate that more companies are improving retention efforts and are finding ways to show employees they are valued and appreciated.
However, 21% of the oldest generation of workers surveyed (65 and up) do not believe that their company is loyal to them, compared to 13% of Generation Xers.
For 80% of the respondents, the top-three work-related concerns were work-life balance, a stagnant paycheck, and the rising cost of healthcare.
