An elderly Illinois woman riding in a limousine with her husband along Route 195 in Swansea, Mass. was killed late Wednesday night.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, Dorothy Judd, 79, and her husband, Robert, 80, of Glendale Heights, Ill., were riding in the back of a limousine that was clipped by a Dodge Colt carrying eight teenagers on the eastbound side of Route 195.

The vehicles were knocked into the median, where the limousine hit a tree. The Judds were rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where Dorthy Judd was pronounced dead. Robert Judd was admitted and treated for chest pains. The chauffeur, William Cooper, 52, and one of the teenagers from the other car were flown to Rhode Island Hospital from the accident. Five of the eight youths were treated for injuries. The driver of the Colt, Andrew Raposo, was not hurt.

Raposo, 17, pleaded not guilty Friday to his charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, operating a motor vehicle in violation of the license law, speeding, and seven counts of driving with a passenger under 17.

Both Robert Judd and Cooper were listed in satisfactory condition Friday.

Raposo is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 7 for a pretrial hearing.
